Kiln Drying

Our American Wood Dryers, Inc. dry kiln has 2-bays, powered by a 600 HP high-pressure steam boiler, that can house up to 200,000 Board Feet at one time. It uses a system of high efficiency heat coils, fans, and baffles to create different temperature zones within the unit that are perfect for drying soft woods to a moisture content target point, while allowing for quick turns and higher productivity.

All kiln charges are set to a specific time and temperature to achieve a quality dried lumber product. Each dry charge is set up specifically based on the initial moisture reading and characteristics of the material to achieve the best results, while eliminating drying defects. Lumber is then routinely re-tested until the desired moisture content is achieved and the charge is completed.
